The Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) program is a hybrid experience, combining online Canvas materials and assignments with in-person sessions. The online components focus on essential aspects of faculty responsibilities, while the in-person classes are dedicated to discussion, self-assessment, and the exchange of ideas. Participants gain valuable knowledge and insights into the academic profession. Upon successful completion, participants are awarded a certificate, which they can proudly add to their curriculum vitae.
By the end of the program, participants will be able to:
- Explain faculty roles and responsibilities in their field.
- Prepare for online and on-site interviews in their field.
- Compose a research and scholarly goals statement.
- Compose a teaching philosophy statement.
- Analyze an observed lesson for use of best practices in teaching.
- Create a lesson plan that uses best practices in instruction.
